The Oasis songwriter looks forward to mixing business with pleasure as he plots a weekend away in Ireland...

NOEL GALLAGHER would like to record a duet with ASH.

According to a report in the Belfast Sunday newspaper Sunday Life, the Oasis songwriter plans to visit Ireland to record a song with the Belfast four-piece later in the year.

He told the paper: “They’ve got great talent. That’s what pop music should be, not Steps or S Club 7. [Vocalist] Tim Wheeler can write a good pop tune and so can we, so why not get together… it’s a good excuse to come to Ireland for a weekend!”

Oasis are currently working on material for their new album, while Ash‘s new record, ‘Free All Angels’, was released today (April 23).
