Earl Sweatshirt returns to Odd Future – audio

Estranged rapper makes return to rap collective on 'Oldie'

Earl Sweatshirt has returned to Odd Future on ‘Oldie’, a track taken from the group’s new album.

The estranged rapper – who had been living at the Coral Reef Academy in Samoa, until recently – appears on the 10-minute album closer from the forthcoming ‘OF Tape Vol. 2’. You can listen to the track by clicking here.

This will come as a surprise to fans after Tyler The Creator had previously said that Earl was unlikely to appear on the album.

Shortly after the track appeared online, Earl Sweatshirt took to his Twitter account to hit out at those suggesting his contribution was “old”.

He replied:

If you think my oldie verse is an old verse, you’re stupid

It also looks like Earl is currently working on new material, after tweeting that he had “slept for roughly 6 hours over the last 4 days #writing”.

Last month, Santigold confirmed she was planning on collaborating with Earl Sweatshirt on a new track.

Meanwhile, Frank Ocean released ‘White’, another song taken from the ‘OF Tape Vol. 2’, on his website, earlier today. Strangely, the track was later removed “at the request of OF (Odd Future)”.

Odd Future’s ‘OF Tape Vol. 2’ is released Monday March 19
