“Oh yes”: Frances Bean Cobain teases release of debut single

She's previewing music on Instagram...

Frances Bean Cobain has teased that the release of her debut single is on the way, after previewing her own original material online.

The 25-year-old daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love has developed a dedicated following on her Instagram account, where she regularly posts clips of new songs.

But it now seems that an official release could be in the offing, after she cryptically responded to a fan on the photo-sharing site.

When asked “will you ever release a full song?”, she curtly replied: “Oh yes”.

The response came in an Instagram post from last night, which saw her previewing an emotionally driven acoustic track.

Speaking to E! last month, Frances  also said that she regards herself as both a musician and a visual artist.

She also stated that her recently released song was not an “official release”, but that she wants to release something “palpable” in the future.

“With regards to music, I don’t want to pigeon hole myself and say I am a musician or a visual artist because I feel like it’s all encompassing and I feel like every bit of my art is related to the other,” she said.

“So do I want to pursue my music further and see it come to fruition and see something further and see something palpable? Absolutely. Do I want to say that was an official release? No, it was an Instagram post.”

Asked what her father would think of her foray into music, Frances replied: “I don’t have an answer for that because I don’t want to speak on someone else’s behalf.
“I would hope that he would be proud of the human being I am even if he didn’t like the art I am putting out. That’s all I would ask of anyone in my life.”
