Omar Rodriguez-López has shared his new video for 'Running Away'

Former At The Drive-In and Mars Volta member Omar Rodriguez Lopez has shared the video for his latest single ‘Running Away’.

Taken from his new album ‘Corazones’ the video is directed by Violeta Felix sees Rodriguez-López giving out flowers, only to be punched in the face for doing so.

Cameos of said attackers include Melvins’ Buzz Osborne, former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, the singer Teri Gender Bender, artist Aura T-09, Eva Gardner, Tatiana Velazquez, and Robin Laann.

Corazones is the second of 12 new albums Rodriguez-López is putting out this year via Ipecac.

Rodriguez-Lopez recently revealed that he believes The Mars Volta will work together again in the future in a new interview.

The band was dissolved by frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala in 2013, who posted a letter to fans accusing Rodriguez-Lopez of not being committed. But the pair have since buried the hatchet, teaming up on their Antemasque project, as well as reforming previous band At The Drive-In last year.

Now, in a new interview with The Rolling Stone, Rodriguez-Lopez has said, speaking about reforming old projects, that they will “eventually” work on The Mars Volta again.

Rodriguez-Lopez added, “At some point, we’d love to do [Mars Volta] again, you know what I mean? There’s so much to do there as well.”
