One Direction’s Liam Payne angers fans by covering up photo of exiled member Zayn Malik

Singer quit their Asia tour due to 'stress' after pictures emerged of him with a mystery girl in Thailand

One Direction member Liam Payne has made light of his bandmate Zayn Malik’s recent departure from the band’s current tour in Asia by covering up a photo of the singer.

Malik recently pulled out of the stint in Hong Kong (March 19) so he could fly back to the UK to be with his family after pictures emerged of him with a mystery girl in Thailand. Malik is currently engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

A spokesperson for the band said at the time: “Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”

Following Malik’s departure, Payne was pictured on the band’s tour in Asia holding up a poster of the band with fans. However, he’s angered fans by covering up Malik’s image. See a tweet below, in which Payne writes: “#makinglightofasituation sorry for the laughs guys “.

One Direction fans took to Twitter in anger, with one writing: “too soon, Liam. TOO SOON.” Another added: “ITS NOT A BANTER WHEN IT COMES TO ZAYN”.

Meanwhile, Zayn Malik’s sister has asked fans to “pray for my brother”.

Waliyha Malik, 16, wrote on Instagram: “Don’t worry guys, Zayn is going to be okay very soon. All the stress has just gotten to him because of the rumours and hatred he has heard and received. It’s really hurting him, some people are just giving him to much.”

She continued: “People need to realize my brother is human to, stop hating him because he hasn’t done anything to anybody, except for defending himself because of what people heard of what he did, but it isn’t true. I love my brother to death, and I do not want to lose him for anything, it hurts me to see him not feeling good.”

“Please pray for my brother, please help him because I know he will be okay. please stop sending him hate and getting on him for what he has ‘did’.”
