OutKast to headline Drake’s OVO Fest

Hip-hop duo will perform at Canadian event

Outkast will headline Drake‘s OVO Fest this August, it has been confirmed.

The reformed hip-hop duo will top the bill at the event on August 3, according to Billboard, with Drake himself to headline the following nights (August 4). Both evenings will also include appearances and performances from special guests at the festival, which takes place at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheater. Previous names who have appeared at the bash include Kanye West, Jay Z and Eminem.

It was revealed last month (January 28) that Outkast will also headline Bestival 2014. The pair will play 40 festivals this summer, having previously announced that they would be making their live comeback headlining Coachella Festival in California alongside Muse and Arcade Fire in April. They subsequently announced another headline slot at New York’s Governors Ball festival, which takes place June 6-8 on Randall’s Island.

Speaking about their reunion shows, Big Boi said in a statement: “It’s truly an honour to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose. Don’t just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans — stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!”

OutKast went on hiatus in 2007 and have not performed together since 2004. This year is the 20th anniversary of the pair’s 1994 debut album ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’.
