Ozzy Osbourne: “I should have died 100 times and never did”

Metal legend opens up in new documentary 'God Bless Ozzy Osbourne'

Ozzy Osbourne is the subject of a new documentary film entitled ‘God Bless Ozzy Osbourne’.

The feature length film was produced by Osbourne‘s son Jack and executive produced by wife Sharon. A trailer for the film’s Tribeca Film Festival screening can be watched below, as well as a clip from the film about Ozzy’s first marriage and children.

Jack Osbourne yesterday (June 8) attended the first UK screening of the movie, simply stating: “I hope you enjoy the film.” The movie documents all aspects of Osbourne‘s life from his childhood in Birmingham, to his parents, sisters, first wife and children, as well as his years with Black Sabbath and subsequent solo work.

Speaking about his battles over the years with drugs and alcohol, Osbourne recalls waking up after a night of partying in the central reservation in the middle of a freeway: “I should have died 100 times and never did. If you wanted me to do something, tell me not to. I can’t remember the 80s at all. Never happened.”

Meanwhile, looking back fondly over his days in Black Sabbath, Osbourne recalls that they were simply, “a bunch of guys with fuck all to lose and everything to gain.”

The film also touches on how the 62 year old singer, who has now been sober for five-years, has also recently got his driver’s license. “When I got successful I got guns, knives and a motorbike. But it’s only now I’m able to drive!”

A UK release date for ‘God Bless Ozzy Osbourne’ has yet to be confirmed.
