Pale Waves, Chas & Dave and Lisa Hannigan are among the new additions to this year’s British Summer Time shows in Hyde Park – joining the supporting line up for shows by The Cure and Eric Clapton.

The huge outdoor gig series returns to Hyde Park in July this year for a series of huge shows – including a 40th anniversary celebration from The Cure.

Now, it’s set to get even bigger, with a new set of artists being announced for shows by Clapton, The Cure and Roger Waters.

“I’ve listened to more new music in the last six months than I ever have,” said Smith earlier this month in a BBC 6Music interview.

“I’ve suddenly fallen in love with the idea of writing new songs, so it’s had a really good effect on me.”

He continued: “I booked some time to do some demos next month. Some of it’s really good, some of it not so good.

“I never wanted to be in a position where I was forcing myself to write, I’ve never felt comfortable with that.”
