Paramore singer’s internet scribblings come out on top

Paramore’s Hayley Williams has won the Best Band Blog Or Twitter award at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 for her blog, Let’s Be Freaks.

The singer, who has continued to blog despite having the departure of ex-Paramore guitarist Josh Farro being played out via Farro’s own online diary, updates the page most days.

The other nominees were Frank Turner (Frank-turner.com/blog), Kanye West (Twitter.com/kanyewest), Lily Allen (Twitter.com/lilyroseallen) and HurtsTheo Hutchcraft (Twitter.com/theohurts).

This is the first year there has been a prize awarded for Best Band Blog Or Twitter at the awards.
