Guitarist gives first interview since leaving the band
Josh Farro has spoken for the first time about leaving Paramore to form new band Novel American.
The guitarist left the pop-rockers along with his drummer brother Zac in December, subsequently writing a blog slamming his former bandmates and their management.
Speaking to MTV News, Farro said: “I think liberating is a great word for how I’ve felt over the last month.”
He said that initially after leaving Paramore he didn’t know if he wanted to be in a band again. “Coming from Paramore, I didn’t think I’d want to be in a band or have anything to do with it,” he said.
The guitarist changed his mind and formed Novel American with Van Beasley, Tyler Ward and Ryan Clark, all former members of the band Cecil Adora and all of whom he went to high school with.
“I think we just disagree on a lot of things, and that’s OK,” he added of his ex-bandmates. “I just wish them the best in the future, and I really don’t want to make it this huge drama thing.”
