Paul McCartney seeks trademark

Singer looks to use his name on food and clothing

Paul McCartney is seeking to put a trademark on his name.

The former Beatle‘s company MPL Communications Ltd, has lodged an application seeking exclusive rights to use his name on clothing and food.

Objections to the application will be taken with the Trademarks Registry over the next three months.

A trademark judge will then decide whether it has been successful depending on whether it meets the required legal criteria, reports Reuters.

If it is approved, the company will be able to take action against others using identical, or even similar, names and logos.
