PAUL McCARTNEY will become the first legend admitted to the TOP OF THE POPS HALL OF FAME at a ceremony later this week.

The former Beatle will be inducted during the very first Top Of The Pops Awards in Manchester’s MEN Arena on November 30. The BBC reports that the award marks McCartney‘s “lifetime contribution to popular music”.

“Sir Paul McCartney is a legend. He has made an enormous contribution to music both in this country and around the world over the last 40 years,” a spokesperson said.

McCartney‘s new solo album, ‘Driving Rain’, has fallen to 81 on the UK album chart after two weeks on sale. It debuted at number 46.
