The Modfather plays the London Brixton Academy 15th birthday party...

Paul Weller has been confirmed to play at the LONDON BRIXTON ACADEMY’S fifteenth birthday party on May 21, nme.com can reveal.

The night will be the culmination of nearly two months of birthday activity for the London venue, which also includes gigs from Macy Gray (April 6), Gomez (April 16), Primal Scream (April 21-22) and Leftfield (May 20).

A spokesperson for Brixton Academy told nme.com: “We wanted Paul Weller because he is from south of the river and respect is due! Like The Academy, his career has spanned over 15 years, and like The Academy, he’s still doing the business!”
