The Modfather reveals first tour here for two years...
Paul Weller has announced his first UK tour for two years. The 16 dates will be his first live shows since a one-off Kosovan charity gig in May 1999.
The tour coincides with the April release of Weller’s fifth solo album ‘Heliocentric’ – his first since 1997’s ‘Heavy Soul’.
Although Ocean Colour Scene guitarist and long time collaborator Steve Craddock and OCS bassist Damon Minchella guested on most of the album tracks, a new tour band will be put together.
Drummer Steve White is said to be the only long standing Weller band member who will tour.
The dates are: Bridlington Spa Pavilion (April 21), Preston Guildhall (22), Leicester De Montford Hall (23), Reading Rivermead (25), Plymouth Pavillions (26), Bristol Colston Hall (27), Guildford Civic Hall (29), London Royal Albert Hall (May 2), Nottingham Arena (5), Manchester Apollo (6), Aston Villa Leisure Centre (9), Glasgow Barrowlands (12), Edinburgh Playhouse (14) Braintree Towerlands (17), Bournemouth International Centre (18) and Cardiff Arena (19).
Meanwhile, Ocean Colour Scene have announced the support acts for their five daay residency at the London Astoria in March. They Coldplay (March 13), The Webb Brothers (14), JJ72 (15), Mo Solid Gold (16) and Toploader (17). Both the final nights have already sold out.
