Paul Weller: ‘I do watch ‘The X Factor”

Modfather finally confirms Noel Gallagher's comments despite slating TV talent shows

Paul Weller has admitted to NME that he does watch The X Factor despite criticising talent shows on TV.

The Modfather recently insisted that he’s sick of TV singing contests and dismissed them as “Saturday-night viewing for the masses”.

But he has finally confirmed that he does watch The X Factor with his daughter. When asked about this he said,: “Ha yeah OK I’ll admit that I watch it but I don’t watch it religiously. If I’m sat there with my daughter and she’s watching then I will. I’ve got to haven’t I? But I can’t say I’m an avid fan.”

His comments come after Noel Gallagher claimed last year that Weller watched the show.

When asked whether he has ever invited the High Flying Birds man to his house with his kids to watch it, he replied:

Not at all mate no. I think Coronation Street is more his mark anyway but he seems to like it doesn’t he? That and Mumford and Sons.

Last month, (March 25) Weller notched up his fourth solo Number One album when his new LP, ‘Sonik Kicks’, entered the chart in the top position.
