PEARL JAM FIND SOMETHING TO DO

Bassist Jeff Ament tackles the classic 'I Just Want To Have Something To Do'...

Pearl Jam have recorded a tribute cover of Ramones‘ ‘I JUST WANT TO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO’ on a special fanclub release.

The track, performed by bassist Jeff Ament, is one of four that feature on the annual Christmas fanclub release, this year delayed due to problems with artwork clearance.

Writing about the song, Ament said: “When Joey died (last) year, I sat down and played Ramones songs on my acoustic. For the first time, I really felt the sadness and loneliness in Joey’s lyrics. This homemade recording is my love letter and thank you to Joey and the Ramonesfor giving me a push.”

Other songs include a cover of John Lennon‘s ‘Gimme Some Truth’ and live versions of ‘Last Soldier’ and ‘Indifference’.

Pearl Jam plan to record a new album in 2002.
