PET SOUNDS!

The duo preview songs from their new album...

Veteran pop duo the Pet Shop Boys are set to preview songs from their just-completed new album during a series of low-key shows in universities around the UK, NME.COM can reveal.

The brief tour will culminate in a special headline appearance at the NME Carling show at London’s Astoria on February 14, part of the celebrations for NME’s 50th anniversary. The show is already sold out.

Reflecting the direction of the new songs, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will be joined on stage by two guitarists and a percussionist. Eight of the album’s ten tracks feature Johnny Marr on guitar but he will not be touring with them as he has other commitments.

The Pet Shop Boys‘ new single ‘Home & Dry’ will be released in March.

The tour dates are as follows:

Bristol University (February 8)

Keele University (9)

Norwich UEA (10)

Teeside University (12)

Leicester De Montfort University (13)

London Astoria (NME Carling show) – (14)
