Pharrell Williams on course for Official UK Singles Chart Number One

'Happy' set to return to top spot in place of Ke$ha and Pitbull

Pharrell Williams is set to knock Pitbull and Ke$ha off the top spot in the Official Singles Chart this weekend with his track ‘Happy’.

Official Chart Company data reveals that ‘Happy’ looks likely to return to Number One ahead of Pitbull and Ke$ha’s song ‘Timber’. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (January 12).

There are three new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update with Lady Gaga‘s re-recording of her 2013 single ‘Do What U Want’, which now features Christina Aguilera in place of R Kelly, debuting at Number Nine today. Meanwhile, DJ Hardwell and Glee star Idina Menzel are both on course to debut in the Top 40 at Numbers 23 and 37 respectively.

Elsewhere, in the Official Albums Chart Beyonce‘s self-titled album is battling Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’ for the top spot. There are just 700 sales between the two albums, with Goulding currently in pole position. The top five is rounded off by albums from Gary Barlow, John Newman and Bastille.

There is only one new entry in the Albums Chart, with Kid Ink’s ‘My Own Lane’ new at 30.
