One day London festival also sees sets from Archie Bronson Outfit, Factory Floor and Chilly Gonzales
After a drizzly start to the day, the sun came out for the fourth annual Field Day festival in London’s Victoria Park (July 31).
Headed up by Phoenix, who closed the one day event with a Main Stage set that included a multi-coloured light show, the day also saw a set from The Fall, who, helmed by a sports jacket wearing Mark E Smith, played their cover of The Sonics’ 1960s garage classic ‘Strychnine’.
Wearing colourful African print robes, the Archie Bronson Outfit laid on a taut set that included music from their most recent album, ‘Coconut’, including ‘Shark’s Tooth’.
Showcasing songs from his new chess themed album, ‘Ivory Tower’, as well as older material such as ‘Take Me Broadway’, Chilly Gonzales was accompanied by two drummers, and Factory Floor played a dancey set to a rammed tent.
