Frontman Black Francis will discuss the band's reunion at the Albert Hall event
The interview will be conducted by local DJ and writer Dave Haslam, and Francis will also take questions from fans on the night. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (September 20). It’s the first time Pixies have announced a British interview since bassist Kim Deal quit in June.
Having reformed in 2004, and having issued one new song that year (‘Bam Thwok’), the band then released their first song from a promised batch of new material, ‘Bagboy’, last month, which was swiftly followed by a four-song release simply titled EP1.
The band play a series of low-key London gigs next week, at the iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse on September 25, a 6Music show at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios on September 26 and at Brixton Electric on Friday September 27. They will also appear on Later…With Jools Holland on September 24 with Janelle Monae and Savages, before returning for a full tour in November. The shows will be their first in the UK with new bassist Kim Shattuck, also of The Muffs.
