All Points East Festival just announced loads of cool free stuff

Having already announced the likes of The xx, LCD Soundsystem, Bjork, The National, Nick Cave, Father John Misty, Lorde and many more, London’s new All Points East Festival have just announced four days of free entry for movies, music, food, and much more.

As well as a main three-day festival and various spin-off ‘All Points East Presents’ one-day events, Victoria Park will now be open to four days of free outdoor cinema, live music, street food, bars, theatre, arts, sports and beyond.

As well as the screening of independent short films, other movie theme nights include All Points 80’s, All Points Musical and All Points Global World Cinema – while every evening will play host to a range of local and world music.

All Points East In The Neighbourhood will be open with free entry at Victoria Park from Monday 28 – Thursday 31 May from 10am – 9.30pm.

Lorde #MeToo

Lorde has spoken about the effects of the #MeToo movement

“Victoria Park is a great space for events and we are excited about All Points East coming to the borough,” said Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs. “When we made the agreement with the promoters we ensured that community benefits are a key part of what will be delivered.

“There will be a four-day programme of free activities, which  is an exciting opportunity to showcase our borough’s rich and diverse cultural talent and ensure that local people have a chance to get involved in what should be a great event.”

He added: “‘In the Neighbourhood’ will mean residents and families in Tower Hamlets can enjoy dozens of free events, and sample some of the culinary delights and beverages provided by local food and drink businesses.”
