He's also backtracked on his comments calling Tupac "boring".

Lil Xan has had to be rescued by police after being confronted by angry Tupac fans.

The rapper recently came under fire for calling Tupac “boring”, during an interview with Revolt TV.

When asked for his opinion on the late hip-hop icon, the 21-year-old dismissively shrugged and said he made “boring music”.

The likes of Waka Flocka Flame led a charge of criticism against his comment – calling on him to be “banned from hip hop”.

Now, it’s emerged that the rapper was forced to call the police after being confronted by a group of high school pupils over his comments.

According to TMZ, he was at a branch of fast food chain Del Taco in his hometown of Redlands, California on Thursday afternoon, when he was surrounded by a group of “hostile” students.

While the situation didn’t get physical, he was forced to flee to a nearby YMCA, where the police came to escort him to his car.

“Tupac a legend, they just twist your words and then want you to hate me,” he continues.

“Don’t hate me.”

Lil Xan – real name Diego Leanos – gets his name from his previous addiction to Xanax. The rapper is now clean, and speaks out about benzo abuse, urging people to stop using it.

His debut album ‘Total Anarchy’ is out April 6.

Xanax was one of the drugs found on Lil Peep‘s tour bus following his untimely death last November.
