Post Malone beats Anne-Marie and Blossoms to score UK number one album with ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’

'Beerbongs & Bentleys' experiences massive week of streaming

Post Malone has scored his first UK number one album with ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’.

Released last week (April 27), the LP followed on from 2016 debut ‘Stoney’. In its first week, it shifted 43,000 combined physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales, according to the Official Chart Company.

The record had a huge week in streaming terms, achieving the third biggest opening week of streams (35,000) for any album in the UK, trailing behind Ed Sheeran’s ‘÷’ (79,000) and Drake’s ‘More Life’ (36,000).

Meanwhile, the album was certified platinum in the US after just four days. It also broke first day streaming records on Spotify with 79 million global streams.

In a two-star reviewNME‘s Larry Bartleet described the 22-year-old’s second album as “directionless”, arguing that it made “the rockstar lifestyle sound beige”.
