Traveling event will also see performances from Roni Size and Tricky in 2016
Primal Scream have been announced as headliners of 6 Music’s annual festival, which will take place in Bristol next year.
Roni Size and Tricky are also confirmed for the third 6 Music Festival, which will see the BBC station broadcast gigs from venues including the Colston Hall, O2 Academy and Trinity between February 12-14.
Primal Scream will perform material from new album ‘Chaosmosis’ for the first time at the festival while Bristol acts Beak, The Blue Aeroplanes and DJ Pinch are also on the bill. The full line-up will be revealed next month.
6 Music DJs Mary-Ann Hobbs promised music fans an “unforgettable experience” as she joined 6Music DJ Steve Lamacq and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie in Bristol yesterday (December 15) as they launched the festival.
“This year, the festival is coming to Bristol, a place where music is such a primary element of the DNA of the city,” she said.
“The 6 Music Festival is such a special event because it brings all the elements of what we do as a digital radio station into a physical space – the artists, the whole of the station’s staff and presenters, and of course our wonderful listeners.”
This year’s 6 Music Festival was held on Tyneside and brought performances from Hot Chip, Mogwai, The Maccabees, Sleater-Kinney and Jamie T. The station’s first ever festival was held in 2014 in Manchester.
