Primal Scream recruit T In The Park crowd for new single

Band ask for a crowd chant to sample on their next release

Primal Scream closed proceedings in the King Tut’s Wah-Wah Tent at the T In The Park festival tonight (July 13) – and got the crowd to help them out on a version of their new single.

The band recruited the crowd to sing “backing vocals” on the download version of track ‘Can’t Go Back’.

“We’ve got a download single out tomorrow, and we need some backing vocals for it. Do you want to be on the single?” bassist Mani as the crowd.

He then led a football chant of “Primal Scream, Primal Scream“, which will apparently feature on the single download.

Earlier frontman Bobby Gillespie had asked the crowd: “Do you want to hear some rock ‘n’ roll? Well, you’re in the right fucking place!”

He and his bandmates duly delivered, with the likes of 2000 single ‘Accelerator’, a joyous ‘Dolls’ and a heavy version of ‘Miss Lucifer’.

The band also played a number of songs from new album ‘Beautiful Future’, including the aforementioned single, the title track, ‘Suicide Bomb’ and ‘Beautiful Summer’, which featured a guest violinist.

Finishing the set with a string of hits, the band played ‘Loaded’, ‘Movin’ On Up’ and their biggest hit to date ‘Country Girl’, which saw the band end the show, and the festival, with a massive sing-a-long.
