The Mirror reports that Prince will soon announce a full UK tour
It would be the first time the 55-year-old performer has played in the UK since his appearance at the Hop Farm Festival in 2011, and the first time he has played multiple dates since since 2007, when he appeared for 21 nights at London’s O2 Arena.
According to the newspaper, when they asked Prince’s representatives whether they could confirm a 2014 tour, the reply was: “EVERYTHING U THINK IS TRUE.”
Last November Prince shared a new track titled ‘Da Bourgeoisie’ on Twitter. He has been releasing a slew of material online in recent months via his 3rdEyeGirl website. Earlier this year, the singer and his new band embarked on a theatre tour of North America, with gigs in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, Anaheim and Denver. They played two shows a night at most venues. Prince also made an appearance earlier this year on Janelle Monae’s album ‘The Electric Lady’, duetting with the singer on the track ‘Givin Em What They Love’.
Meanwhile, Prince could also be set to feature on Rita Ora’s next album, according to the London-based pop singer. Speaking to The Mirror, Ora said that the pair had “definitely done some music together”. She commented: “I have met him and I have had the honour of being in the same studio with him. We messed around with some music together and you know, I can’t believe he can play so many instruments. All I can say is we’ve definitely done some music together.”
