SUPERSTAR ENTERTAINS CAPTIVE AUDIENCE

Jarvis DJ support at unusual London venue...

NEW YORK rapper PRINCESS SUPERSTAR and JARVIS COCKER are to play a gig at LONDON’s PENTONVILLE PRISON, NME.COM can reveal.

The one-off gig will take place at the Hole In the Wall behind the prison on November 12 between 9pm and 1am. Jarvis Cocker will perform a guest DJ set along with Pulp‘s Steve Mackey, while Princess Superstar will perform on stage in the officers’ lounge.

Princess Superstar’s spokeswoman told NME.COM: “Jarvis and Princess Superstar wanted to do something together, but in a different location. Jarvis went out searching, came back with the idea of Pentonville Prison and everyone loved it.”

Guest stars from the new album ‘Princess Superstar Is’ including Beth Orton are tipped to put in an appearance. Tickets are £7 and will be available on the night.

Princess Superstar also plays at Glasgow Queen Mary Hall (November 14) and Manchester University Union (15).
