Pulp are to return to the UK with a pre-Christmas stadium tour and another single gleaned from their recent No 1 album 'This Is Hardcore'...
Pulp are to release ‘Party Hard’ as their next single on September 7. The single, the fourth to be released from current album ‘This Is Hardcore’, will be backed by a host of new Pulp tracks and remixes. CD1 will feature ‘We Are The Boyz’ from the soundtrack of the forthcoming glam rock film Velvet Goldmine and an extended version of album track ‘The Fear’. CD2 features two extra remixes of ‘Party Hard’, the Stretch & Vern mix and an All Seeing I mix along with the original version.
The band have also followed up their sell-out gig at London’s Finsbury Park by unveiling a full UK tour. They play Hereford Leisure Centre (November 17), London Wembley Arena (19), Manchester Apollo (22 & 23), Stoke Trentham Gardens (25), Doncaster Dome (26), Hull Arena (28), Glasgow SECC (29), Cardiff International Arena (December 1), Birmingham NEC (2), Brighton Centre (3) and Bournemouth International Centre (5). Support has yet to be confirmed.
Jarvis Cocker has also announced that the documentaries he’s been working on recently will hit the UK’s television screens this year. The three separate hour-long films about avant-garde artists, which are presented by Jarvis, are to be called ‘Journeys Into The Outside’ and will be shown on Channel 4 in December. A spokesman for Channel 4 said that Jarvis had travelled to India, Mexico, US and all over Europe to make the series and had interviewed a huge variety of artists to talk about “outsider art”.
He continued: “There’s everything from a man who’s painted the side of a mountain to someone who’s just filled acres and acres of land with hundreds of sculptures to someone making monolithic structures of stone.”
Tickets for the Pulp gigs are available from the NME 24-hour ticketline on 0870 1212 500. All calls are charged at national standard rate.
