Jarvis Cocker teams up with French actress

He joins a host of stars on Charlotte Gainsbourg's album

Jarvis Cocker, Air and The Divine Comedy have joined forces for French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg‘s forthcoming album.

Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich has also signed up for the ’21 Grams’ star’s project ‘5:55’.

Cocker and The Divine Comedy‘s Neil Hannon have penned lyrics for the album, which is due out on September 4.

Air’s Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel have also provided the backing music for the record, alongside Beck‘s father David Campbell, who is responsible for the record’s string arrangements.

Gainsbourg’s previous work includes debut album ‘Charlotte For Ever’, a collection of songs written by her father, the legendary French artist Serge Gainsbourg, when she was 13 years old.

The actress later provided the backing vocals to Badly Drawn Boy’s 2002 LP ‘Have You Fed the Fish?’ along with the spoken intro to Madonna’s 2001 hit, ‘What It Feels Like For A Girl’.
