FEELGOOD GIGS OF THE SUMMER

The band have been offered "a good slot" on the main stage...

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE are set to play this year’s CARLING WEEKEND READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS, and will warm up for their appearance with a one-off date in LONDON, NME.COM can reveal.

A source close to the band told NME.COM this morning (March 8) that the US rockers have been offered a “good slot” on the main stage at this year’s festival, which is due to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 24-27). It is likely they will confirm their appearance within the next few days.

The band appeared at last year’s festival, but on the second stage, rather than the more prestigious main stage.

If the Queens, who have just confirmed an appearance at the Pinkpop Festival in Holland on June 2-4, do decide to play the festival, they will probably warm up with a club date in London. Possible venues include the Brixton Academy and London Astoria.
