R KELLY TOPS UK SINGLES CHART

And there's a Number One album for Blur...

R KELLY has topped the UK singles chart – his ‘IGNITION REMIX’ going straight in at Number one tonight (May 11).

The embattled R&B star, currently preparing to defend a string of child pornography charges, saw off a challenge from Big Brovaz ‘Favourite Things’, which entered the chart at Two. ‘Take Your Shoes Off’, by The Cheeky Girls, completes a trio of new entries in the Top Three.

Other new entries in the Top Ten are Good Charlotte’s ‘Girls And Boys’ at Six and Husan’s ‘Bhangra Nights’ at Seven. Feeder just miss the Top ten with ‘Forget About Tomorrow’ entering at Twelve.

Meanwhile, Blur’s new LP ‘Think Tank’ has gone straight in at Number One, seeing off last week’s chart-topper Justin Timberlake, whose solo debut ‘Justified’ drops to Two. The White Stripes fall to Three with ‘Elephant’, an LP that hasn’t been out the Top Three since it entered the charts at One on April 7.
