R Kelly has revealed that he is working on a follow up to his 2013 album ‘Black Panties’, titled ‘White Panties’.
The R&B singer released ‘Black Panties’ in December and revealed in a new interview with V Magazine that he is already planning to release a sequel to the album. Speaking about his new record, R Kelly says: “It’s called ‘White Panties’. And you can expect a whole other level.”
However, ‘White Panties’ may not be the next album R Kelly releases. The R&B singer is also hoping to record a joint album with Mary J Blige, with whom he will tour America later this year. Discussing his plans with Blige, Kelly says: “It’s a very exciting thing when two people like Mary and me come together. It’s never been done, but it kind of makes sense, and you’re like, Wow!”
He continues: “This is very exciting for me because I’m a fan of hers. I’m in the studio right now working on a song for me and Mary. I’m even looking forward to proposing that we do a whole album together. But this is the first I’ve mentioned it. The ‘King & Queen’ album.”
In 2013 R Kelly revealed he was working on “seven or eight albums”, including festive album ’12 Nights Of Christmas’. The singer also said that he “met his match” when working with Lady Gaga on her single ‘Do What You Want’.
