RADIO 4 are to play an AIDS benefit show in LONDON.

The gig, at the London Garage on August 28, will see all profits handed to the Children With AIDS Charity and follows the release of the band’s new single ’Start A Fire’, which addresses similar issues. An exclusive CD version of the single was given away with last week’s NME.

Singer and bassist Anthony Roman told NME.COM: “When I wrote the song I was thinking that if you’re a teenager now, you might think of AIDS as something that happened 15 years ago that doesn’t exist anymore. It’s not on TV, it’s not in the news and it’s incredible how something so serious as a killer disease could be treated in the same transitory way as other news.”

The gig will also feature two more bands and guest DJs. Tickets cost £10-12 and the club will stay open until 2am.

For tickets call the NME Ticketline on 0870 1 663 663.
