The 'Hobbit' star says he would have loved to have released 'In Rainbows'
Elijah Wood said that he would have loved to have signed Radiohead to his record label Simian Records.
The Hobbit star told NME: “It was a fantasy of mine that I could release one of their records,” saying the idea had come from, “A very brief period of time where Radiohead were looking to release ‘In Rainbows’ but they didn’t have a label”. He added:
In my heart of hearts I knew that was absolutely impossible, but you know, you know I’m a huge Radiohead fan.
Wood’s record label, which was set up in 2005, has released albums from indie rocker and Neutral Milk Hotel affiliates The Apples in Stereo and also includes signings Heloise and the Savoir Faire.
The actor and now recently turned DJ played a 45 minute set last week (21 June) under the name of DJ Wooden Wisdom, with his friend Zach Cowie, as part of Bushmills Live. The two-day event which celebrated whiskey and music took place in a distillery in Northern Ireland and was exclusively open to competition winners.
Other acts which played alongside DJ Wooden Wisdom included The Staves, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Snow Patrol, who played an intimate gig to just over 400 people.
