Frontman teams up with 350 Earth campaign group for project
The project was in collaboration with the 350 Earth climate campaign organisation.
The frontman enlisted volunteers through the band’s website, Radiohead.com/deadairspace, to stand in formation in the coastal city to create the design (pictured), which he devised with Radiohead sleeve designer Stanley Donwood.
He said the plan was to make an “image facing the sea that is visible from space”.
The stunt was designed to send a warning about the precarious global climate situation to politicians attending the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Cancun, Mexico on Monday (29).
