Beastie Boys have cancelled their tour with Rage Against The Machine, nme.com can reveal.

The band postponed the original autumn tour dates when Mike D injured his right shoulder in a cycling accident. But according to their website “insurmountable, logistical, scheduling and health problems” forced an eventual cancellation of the shows.

The statement went on to read: “All efforts were made to reschedule the tour but were ultimately unsuccessful due to a confluence of prior commitments, holds, scheduling the venues in question and numerous other factors.

Beastie Boys express profound apologies to all artists, personnel and, most of all, fans who had been looking forward to the tour.”

In other Beastie Boys business, the group are planning to release an Anthology DVD. The disc will feature track remixes, interviews and video among its content. A UK release date has yet to be set.
