Razorlight headline anti-slavery gig

Supergrass are also on the bill

Razorlight have joined the bill as headliners of next week (March 25) ’The Voice Of Slavery’ gig at London’s Kentish Town Forum.

As previously reported, Supergrass, Babyshambles guitarist Drew McConnell, Ed Harcourt, Nerina Pallot, Finlay Quaye, Blondelle, Emmanuel Jal, Tawaiah, Jonny Berliner, A Poem Between People and Congo Faith Healers are also playing the charity show.

The date of the gig marks the bicentenary of the British parliamentary act that abolished the trans-Atlantic slave trade, and the show will highlight modern forms of slavery still in existence.

It will be hosted by actors Samantha Morton, Rhys Ifans and Sadie Frost.

The proceeds from the event will go to Anti-Slavery International and Stop The Traffik.

Speaking about their involvement, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell said: “We are really pleased to be involved with The Voice of Slavery. It’s almost unbelievable that 200 years after the abolition, this is still affecting millions of people around the world. This is one of the worst forms of human rights abuse, and we all need to lend our support to the organisations that are fighting slavery every day.”
