Smiths producer, Jon McClure for Reading And Leeds Festivals debates

Instigate Debate line-ups announced for the two sites

The line-ups for the Instigate Debate panels at the Reading And Leeds Festivals have been announced, with producer Stephen Street, Jon McClure of Reverend & The Makers and Inspiral CarpetsClint Boon among those set to appear.

BBC Radio‘s Steve Lamacq, NME journalists and two NME.COM competition winners will also appear.

The panel will debate the topic ‘Dead Or Alive: Can Independent Music Survive The 21st Century?’ on the Alternative Stage on Friday (August 28) in Reading at 12.30pm (BST), then in Leeds on Sunday (30) – also at 12.30pm on the Alternative Stage.

The line-ups for the panels are:

Reading: Jon McClure (Reverend & The Makers), Stephen Street (producer: The Smiths, Blur, Pete Doherty), Nadia Khomami (NME.COM competition winner), Paul Stokes (NME journalist), Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio)

Leeds: Jon McClure, Lara Fudge (NME competition winner), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Jamie Fullerton (NME journalist)

This year’s event will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and Kings Of Leon.
