REM, PEARL JAM and ALANIS MORISSETTEare amongst the artists confirmed to appear at a massive charity concert in SEATTLE.

The event, titled ‘Groundwork 2001’ takes place on October 22 at the Seattle Key Arena.

The concert is part of a series of events in the city, which according to the website at www.groundwork2001.org , will “raise awareness about solutions to world hunger and funds to help small farmers in developing countries in their struggle to overcome poverty”.

Other acts confirmed to appear at various concerts include Joe Strummer (October 17) and Afro Celt Sound System (18).
