REM have confirmed the first of their live shows for the autumn.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the group are lining-up a second round of promotional activity in support of current album ‘Reveal’, following a summer break.

The promotion is expected to include a visit to Europe in September and October.

Now, the group have just confirmed they are to appear alongside Neil Young and Pearl Jam at the annual Bridge School Concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. An exact date is yet to be confirmed for the event.

According to a posting on the official REM website at www.remhq.com, the show will be the band’s second at the benefit concert, the first being in 1998 around the time of their album ‘Up’.

Proceeds from the shows go to the nearby Bridge School, who work with children with severe speech and physical impairments.

REM release a new single ‘All The Way To Reno (You’re Gonna Be A Star)’ today (July 23).
