REM vocalist MICHAEL STIPE has assured fans that guitarist PETER BUCK will be “fine” following his arrest on alleged air rage offences on Saturday (April 21).
As previously reported on NME.COM, Buck was arrested on his arrival in London from Seattle over the weekend.
Now, speaking on the official REM website REM are now concentrating on rehearsing for their forthcoming live show in London’s Trafalgar Square on Sunday (April 29).
He said: “Well it’s been a wild couple of days. Bertis (Downs, REM‘s manager) and I are quasi relaxing over a pizza at Harrods and we walked here. Rehearsals begin today. We’re all happy to be working. London’s chilly but gorgeous as last time. Peter’s gonna be fine and we’re all excited about Sunday’s show.”
Buck was bailed at Uxbridge Magistrates Court yesterday (April 23) and ordered to return on June 18. Buck was charged with two common assaults on air crew, criminal damage, being drunk on an aircraft and a public order offence on the British Airways flight BA408.
