Reverend And The Makers urge Scotland to ‘declare independence’

Jon McClure attacks Jay-Z at T In The Park

Reverend and the Makers played a raucous set earlier this evening (July 12) in the King Tut’s Wah-Wah Tent at the T In The Park festival.

Sporting a mohican haircut, Jon ‘The Reverend’ McClure urged the Scottish crowd to “declare independence” and slammed Jay-Z for using the word “bitch” to describe women.

McClure was pumped-up for the occasion, talking at length between ecstatically-received songs, including ‘Heavyweight Champion Of The World’ and ‘The State Of Things’.

Repeatedly imploring the crowd to “think for yourselves,” McClure took a swipe at Jay-Z during his set, saying: “‘99 problems but the bitch ain’t one’? I don’t know any girls I call a ‘bitch’.”

McClure then shouted, “God bless Scotland, make sure you declare independence,” before punching the air throughout a frenetic version of ‘He Said He Loved Me’ to close his set.

He then asked the audience to follow him outside for an impromptu acoustic set.
