Richard Ashcroft releases a new single ‘MONEY TO BURN’ on June 12 through HUT RECORDINGS, nme.com can reveal.
The follow-up to his current single ‘A Song For The Lovers’ is the second to be taken from his debut solo album, ‘Alone With Everybody’, which is set for release on June 26.
‘Money To Burn’ will be released on all formats, with brand new tracks ‘Leave Me High’ and ‘XXYY’ as B-sides.
The new single is has been described by Ashcroft as being like “A modern-day Elvis. It’s like, ‘Right, if you want me to be an extravagant rock star, I’m gonna be an extravagant rock star.’
“It’s like, ‘Fuck everyone else; let’s have the wildest night of our lives.'”
Richard Ashcroft is scheduled to make his debut solo live performance at this year’s V2000 Festivals at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on August 19-20.
He’s also revealed that he plans to warm-up for the shows with low-key gigs in the south of France, and plans to return to the stage for a full tour in December this year.
