The singer erased the message eight minutes after it was posted
Rihanna has deleted a tweet which read ‘#FreePalestine’.
The pop singer erased the post just eight minutes after it went online yesterday (July 15), reports TMZ, replacing it with a more general tweet about the conflict, which avoided taking sides. The replacement tweet can be seen below.
Let’s pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?…. pic.twitter.com/jHD56KXkcu

Rihanna isn’t the only artist to have spoken out about the current Israeli-Palestinian troubles, with Neil Young cancelling a show in Tel Aviv, Israel because of the situation. “We’ll miss the opportunity to play for our fans and look forward to playing in Israel and Palestine in peace,” said a statement issued by Young and his band Crazy Horse.
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder also courted controversy by appearing to side with the Free Palestine campaign during his band’s performance last week at Milton Keynes Bowl.
