Singer pulls out of Baltimore show as she continues to recover
Rihanna cancelled a second show in the US last night (March 12) after being diagnosed with laryngitis.
The singer had already axed a show in Boston on Monday (March 11) after falling ill and she did the same for her Baltimore gig last night. A statement from promoters Live Nation (via Associated Press), said Rihanna is “still recovering” and suggested fans hold onto their tickets “pending rescheduling show date information”.
Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour kicked off in Buffalo, New York on Friday (March 8) and is due to call at over 25 cities. “#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we’ve been waiting on this day forever, and I’m hurt that I let you down,” she tweeted after she cancelled her first show. “I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I’m so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!” She is yet to post a statement about her second cancelled show.
Recent reports suggested that Rihanna is planning on taking a 12-month hiatus from her career. The singer reportedly wants a year-long break from the music industry before releasing another LP.
Rihanna is set to play Open’er festival in Poland, which takes place between July 3-6. The festival, which will be headlined by Queens Of The Stone Age, Blur, Kings Of Leon and Arctic Monkeys, takes place in Gdynia. For more information visit Opener.pl/en.
