'Talk That Talk' singer has fallen foul of the company's family-friendly image
Rihanna has been dropped as the face of skincare company Nivea.
The ‘Talk That Singer’ had signed a deal with the company last year and appeared in a series of adverts for the skincare brand, including one where she posed naked as part of Nivea’s 100-year anniversary. The company also sponsored her tour and used her track ‘California King Bed’ in a series of their adverts.
However, Stefan Heidenreich, the new CEO of Nivea’s parent company Beiersdorf has told German newspaper Welt that they are ditching the singer as she falls foul of their family-friendly image.
Heidenreich said: “I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.”
Rihanna, who recently announced that she will be designing a clothing line for UK high street chain River Island, is currently filming a new fashion series named Styled To Rock for UK TV channel Sky Living.
