Singer sues former owner for allegedly failing to point out structural defects in her home
Rihanna has filed a lawsuit after a $6.9 million (£4.25m) mansion she bought in 2009 suffered a major water leak.
The singer is suing the former owner of the Beverly Hills two-story home over waterproofing defects, evidence of water intrusion and other construction defects after the house was hit by a rainstorm in January last year.
According to court papers filed in LA County Superior Court, water leaked into multiple rooms making the mansion “uninhabitable”.
In addition to the former owner, she is also suing the inspector, real estate agents involved with the sale and engineers involved with the house.
Rihanna claims that “the actual value of the property at the time of purchase, taking into consideration the extensive construction defects was millions of dollars less” than the price she paid for it.
