Rihanna tops UK singles and album chart

Plus Kate Bush scores a high new entry with LP '50 Words For Snow'

Rihanna has scored a UK singles and album chart double after her new LP ‘Talk That Talk’ shot straight to the top spot and her Calvin Harris hit ‘We Found Love’ stayed at Number One.

The victory means she now becomes the only female artist ever to score the achievement twice in the same year with different singles and albums.

The last time an act scored such a feat was in May 1972, when T-Rex‘s single ‘Metal Guru’ and album ‘Bolan Boogie’ topped the charts, three months after hit ‘Telegram Sam’ and LP ‘Electric Warrior’ went to Number One.

Rihanna also becomes the first ever female artist to bag two different chart topping LPs in the same year.

Elsewhere in the album chart, Kate Bush went in at Number Five with her new record ’50 Words For Snow’.
