Singer says she felt "too much anger" about the past and is now a fan of her ex-boyfriend's music
Brown was sentenced to five years’ probation and community labour for assaulting Rihanna in 2009, following an altercation in which he beat her while in a parked car after a pre-Grammy Party in Los Angeles in 2008.
But the ‘S&M’ singer has said that she has moved on from the incident because disliking Brown “was taking up too much of my time”.
“It was too much anger,” she told Esquire magazine. “I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career.
“It’s incredible to see how he pulled it out the way he did,” she added. “Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan.”
Rihanna – who was recently forced to cover up by a farmer whose field she was using to film the video for her new single ‘We Found Love’ when he objected to her “state of undress” – went on to add:
I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.
Rihanna recently confirmed that her new studio album will be called ‘Talk Talk Talk’. The record, which will be her sixth studio LP and the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Loud’, will be released on November 21.
