Rihanna and Chris Brown to duet on ‘American Idol’?

Rihanna also reportedly looking to move to east London

Rihanna and Chris Brown are rumoured to have been approached by American Idol producers to appear on this season’s show.

Following on from the controversial remix of the Barbadian singer’s track ‘Birthday Cake’, which featured Brown, the former couple have reportedly been touted to perform on the US talent show.

According to E! News, an American Idol source said:

They want Chris and Rihanna to reunite for the show.

With the return of the live shows this Tuesday (February 28), it is thought that producers believe having Rihanna and Brown reunite on stage would boost ratings. However, a representative for Rihanna denied there were plans for the hook-up.

If the couple were to perform on the show, it would be the first time they will have been seen together since Chris Brown was arrested for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.

Rihanna is also reportedly looking to move to east London. A report in today’s Sun On Sunday suggested that the singer has been scoping out properties in the Hoxton district of the city, not far from where Kanye West has set up camp to record material for his new album.

Meanwhile, earlier this week Brown allegedly stole a woman’s mobile phone, after she tried to take a picture of the Grammy award-winning singer.

Despite the reports, no arrest warrant has been issued for the singer regarding the theft of the phone but Reuters said the singer has been named as a suspect in a “robbery by sudden snatching”.
